Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That the 73rd General Convention of the Episcopal Church embrace the concept of restorative justice for our nation's criminal justice system; and be it further
Resolved, That the General Convention issue a call to the wider Christian community and other interfaith and nonprofit organizations to join it in urging that our nation's policies embrace restorative justice; and be it further
Resolved, That the General Convention affirm that in a just and fair system of social order, one where both forgiveness and mercy are balanced with accountability and restitution, reflects for us the Baptismal Covenant to seek and serve Christ in all persons, and strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.
