Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That the 75th General Convention direct the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music to prepare a report on the problem of liturgical texts of The Episcopal Church which can function to promote or maintain anti-Jewish prejudice, with proposed alternate texts for trial use, and to present these materials to the 76th General Convention.

The House of Deputies Committee on Prayer Book, Liturgy and Church Music presented its Report #1 on HB Message #17 on Resolution C001 (Anti-Jewish Prejudice in Liturgical Texts) and moved concurrence.

Deputy Harmon of South Carolina moved to amend the resolution.

Proposed Amendment:

Restore the original text of Resolution C001, rather than the substitute text adopted by the House of Bishops.

Deputy Hart of Pennsylvania moved the previous question on the amendment and the main motion.

A vote was taken to terminate debate. The voice vote being inconclusive the President called for an electronic vote. The result of the vote was: Yes, 619 votes (76%) and No, 196 votes (24%).
