Title: Authorize "Rachel's Tears, Hannah's Hopes" in the Enriching our Worship Series

Resolved, That the 76th General Convention receives Rachel’s Tears, Hannah’s Hopes (found on page 205 of this Blue Book Report) as the response of the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music to Resolution D047, Post-Abortion Healing Services, of the 74th General Convention; and be it further

Resolved, That the 76th General Convention authorize the use of Rachel’s Tears, Hannah’s Hopes to be added to the Enriching Our Worship series for the 2010-2012 triennium, under the direction of the diocesan bishop or ecclesiastical authority, with the following changes:

BB page 222: Delete “As long as we live, she too will live, for she is part of us, we remember her.”

BB page 223, Commendation, line 3: delete “saints” and insert “children.”

BB page 223, Dismissal: add “Alleluia. Alleluia.” at end of each line.

BB page 224, paragraph 1: delete first sentence.

BB page 224, paragraph 1: insert at beginning of paragraph: Sometimes people feel themselves carrying unresolved guilt over an abortion, or mishaps of pregnancy and infertility. Relationships can also be damaged in these processes. We recognize that all of these situations have a tragic dimension and call for great pastoral sensitivity to the needs of the woman and others involved.
