Resolved, That The Episcopal Church through the office of Government Relations encourage the federal government to control military expenditures through leveraging technology, operational efficiencies, and other cost cutting measures wherever possible and that these savings be redirected to poverty alleviation programs.

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the 78th General Convention commit The Episcopal Church to work for a reordering of federal budget priorities, with a goal of evaluating the balance between legitimate military security needs and poverty alleviation programs; and be it further

Resolved, That The Episcopal Church encourage the federal government to reduce military expenditures wherever possible in favor of poverty alleviation programs.
