Resolved, That the following sites be considered for the 82nd General Convention (2027): Phoenix, Arizona (Diocese of Arizona); Orlando, Florida (Diocese of Central Florida); Charlotte, North Carolina (Diocese of North Carolina); Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Diocese of Pittsburgh); and San Juan, Puerto Rico (Diocese of Puerto Rico); and be it further

Resolved, that the Joint Standing Committee on Planning and Arrangements consider the physical and emotional well-being and safety of all members of The Episcopal Church when choosing a host location for any General Convention; and be it further

Resolvedthat criteria to select future sites for future General Conventions will include the following:

  • that conditions at the site, including political conditions, do not pose an immediate threat to the physical safety and well-being of the members of this Church
  • that intentional care will be taken by the presiding officers, Executive Council and the Joint Committee for Planning and Arrangements to ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of those at General Convention at all times
  • that General convention, being a visible manifestation of the Body of Christ we represent, will in all places, concretely witness to the countercultural way of Love that Jesus models, particularly in those places where the children of God are disenfranchised, so that we may point toward the reign of God through our presence and actions.

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring,

That the following sites be considered for the 82nd General Convention (2027): Phoenix, Arizona (Diocese of Arizona); Orlando, Florida (Diocese of Central Florida); Charlotte, North Carolina (Diocese of North Carolina); Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Diocese of Pittsburgh); and San Juan, Puerto Rico (Diocese of Puerto Rico).

Deputy Warren of Ohio moved an amendment.

Proposed Amendment:

Strike Orlando, Florida, from the options listed and adding "paying particular attention to the availability of life-saving access to abortion and emergency contraception to protect those participants at risk for pregnancy."

Deputy Warren of Northern California moved to suspend the Rules of Order in order to consider Resolution D054 before considering Resolution A001.

Following an inconclusive voice vote, the President called on the Voting Secretary to conduct an electronic vote.
