Resolved, That this 68th General Convention ratify the division of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines to create a new diocese which, until the new diocese adopts a name, shall be referred to as the Diocese of Tabuk with the continuing diocese to be known as the Diocese of Bontoc; the boundaries of the two dioceses shall be as follows:

The Diocese of Bontoc shall include the provinces of Aurora, Ifugao, Isabela, Mountain Province, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino;

The Diocese of Tabuk shall include the provinces of Abra, Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Kalinga-Apayao; and be it further

Resolved, That this 68th General Convention receive the following evidence supporting this Resolution:

  1. Certified copy of the resolution duly approved by the Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines committing the Diocese to its division and to the formation of a new diocese;
  2. The consent of the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines to divide the Diocese;
  3. Certificate of the Secretary of the Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines concerning the number of parishes, aided parishes, organized missions, institutions and Presbyters in the continuing diocese and in the new diocese;
  4. Maps and statistical details of the existing and proposed continuing and new dioceses;
  5. Certificate of the Treasurer of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines concerning the financial abilities of the continuing diocese and of the new diocese, with supporting financial data;
  6. Certificate of the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines and the President of its Standing Committee of compliance with the Resolution approved and of the authenticity of other documents submitted;
  7. Certificate of the Chancellor of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Philippines concerning the execution of the documents submitted, and on compliance with canonical requirements.
