Resolved, That the House of Deputies of the 80th General Convention expresses its sincere gratitude to Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM) for their ongoing commitment to our baptismal covenant to support and welcome new immigrants and refugees in the U.S. on behalf of The Episcopal Church; and be it further

Resolved, That the House commends Episcopal Migration Ministries, members of the EMM Asylum & Detention Ministry Network, and TEC Office of Government Relations for working together to advocate for the protection and rights of all refugees, expanding their scope of work to include people seeking asylum on the U.S.-Mexico border and those held in immigration detention; and be it further

Resolved, That the House commends the work of Episcopal Migration Ministries and TEC Office of Government Relations in their timely and thorough response to the ongoing Afghan and Ukrainian refugee crises; and be it further

Resolved, That the House commends the efforts of the EMM Placement and Special Projects Unit, the EMM Foundational Programs Unit, and the EMM Engagement Unit as they continue to resettle, empower, and improve the lives of refugees served throughout the country; and be it further

Resolved, That the House of Deputies of the 80th General Convention celebrates the outstanding work and contributions made by the EMM Engagement Unit comprised of Allison Duvall, Manager for Church Relations, and Kendall Martin, Communications Manager, who as a team of only two has supported churches and dioceses across the U.S. to welcome refugees through the establishment of the EMM Asylum & Detention Ministry Network, various social media and communications campaigns, webinar and educational events, and beyond; and be it further

Resolved, That the House celebrates the work of leading EMM advocates for migrant and human rights, including but not limited to The Rev. Leeann Culbreath, Diocese of Georgia; The Rev. Michael Wallens, Diocese of the Rio Grande; The Rev. Chris McNabb, Neighbor to Neighbor Program Manager; The Rev. David Chavez, Diocese of Arizona; Troy Elder, Missioner for Migration Ministries in the Diocese of San Diego; Ana Reza, Bridge Chaplain for the Diocese of the Rio Grande; and members of the EMM Asylum & Detention Ministry Network.
