Resolved, That the Executive Council, meeting in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, from January 9-11, 2015, accepts the report made by the Executive Council Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility (CCSR) contained in its memorandum to the Joint Standing Committee on Advocacy and Networking for Mission dated October 22, 2014 on the subject of Corporate Responsibility and Climate Change (see attachment); and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council directs the CCSR to continue to engage in shareholder activism, including corporate dialogues, proxy voting in favor of resolutions seeking changes in corporate behaviors vis-à-vis greenhouse-gas emissions and climate change, and shareholder resolutions; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council directs the CCSR to coordinate its efforts with regard to shareholder activism on greenhouse-gas emissions climate change with the Episcopal Church’s Office of Government Relations and with other religious organizations (including members of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility); and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council directs the CCSR to study additional options for witness with regard to this issue and to report back to the Executive Council at its fall 2016 meeting. |
