Resolved, That the Executive Council affirm the recommendations of the Commission on Theological Education for Latin America and the Caribbean and approve the following requests in the total of $87,595 from the income of Trust Fund 809:
Nicaragua -- Orientation of and continuing education of the diocesan staff, the Clergy and 50 lay persons concerning the theological implications of Nicaragua in its present situation; $7,000.00
Mexico Occidente -- Theological education for lay ministry and for seminarians presently enrolled in San Andres seminary; $1,500.00
Guatemala -- Continuing education of the Clergy. Four members of the Clergy will pursue studies at the school of Theology of Mariano Galves in Guatemala towards a Licenciatura degree in Theology; $5,700.00
Guatemala -- Theological Training Program for 12 lay and clergy candidates; $3,450.00
Costa Rica -- Continuing education of two Clergymen at Austin, Texas; $12,000.00
Haiti -- Continued development of the ministry of the laity. This program intends to provide Theological Education for lay readers who are given their responsibilities for the work in remote areas; $10,000.00
Puerto Rico -- Estudio. The official theological school of the Iglesia Episcopal Puertorriquena prepares candidates for holy orders, provides programs for lay and clergy; $6,100.00
Dominican Republic -- An established theological program for seminarians; $15,000.00
Virgin Islands -- Theological education for the laity and continuing education for clergy; $10,000.00
Colombia -- Theological education for clergy and laity. However, recommended only if the diocese is able to pay the director's salary; $6,595.00
Cuba -- Theological education for candidates desirous of seeking holy orders; $10,250.00
