Resolved, That in response to the letter from the Board of Directors of The Episcopalian, Inc., dated November 1988, requesting that The Episcopalian, Inc., in whole, be accepted into the ownership of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society, the Committee on Administration, Budget and Finance be authorized to consult with the Board of Directors of The Episcopalian, Inc. and, with their concurrence, to take all necessary steps to implement that request with all deliberate speed; and be it further Resolved, That the acceptance of the ownership of The Episcopalian, Inc. by The Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society include the acceptance of all assets and liabilities of The Episcopalian, Inc. as outlined in the explanation, together with complete authority to manage all aspects of the continuing operation of The Episcopalian, Inc., in accordance with the established management and personnel policies of The Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society; and be it further Resolved, That all present employees of The Episcopalian, Inc., who remain through the transition, be brought under the established personnel policies of The Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society at the time of transfer of ownership, including having their employee benefits brought into parity with the structure of The Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society, and that these provisions will not be extended beyond December 31, 1989; and be it further Resolved, That the publication of The Episcopalian, under the new management of The Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society, be continued on a basis to be determined by The Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society without interruption until Episcopal Life is ready and that Episcopal Life, when published, will fulfill all current individual, congregational and diocesan subscription obligations of The Episcopalian. |
