Resolved, That the Executive Council of the Episcopal Church, meeting in the Diocese of Fond du Lac, on June 14-18, 1999, believes that the United States should enter into an agreement with the government of Panama beyond December 31, 1999, to remove munitions it has abandoned and to continue environmental cleanup; and be it further

Resolved, That the Council calls upon the United States to support global adherence to the Chemical Weapons Convention and international law by fully sharing documents regarding suspected chemical weapons sites in Panama and other information on the history of chemical weapons tests conducted in Panama; and be it further

Resolved, That the Council urges that the United States fund an independent study of long term methods for removing munitions from canal area firing ranges in ways that mitigate effects on the area's valuable ecology; and be it further

Resolved, That the Council urges the U.S. Congress and Executive Branch to support adequate funding for cleanup of explosives and chemical agents from ranges and suspected chemical weapons sites in Panama.
