Resolved, That the Standing Committee for National and World Mission endorses the Report of the Committee of Conference (MISS-1) for action of this Executive Council. (and) Whereas, The Executive Council has adopted the ecumenical Report of the Committee of Conference; and Whereas, The National and World Mission Standing Committee of the Executive Council has recently begun to deal with a wide range of ecumenical matters and sees the need for assistance in policy and strategy development to aid program and budget; therefore be it Resolved, That the Executive Council expresses its desire for a closer collaboration with the Standing Commission on Ecumenical Relations and the Episcopal Ecumenical Officers; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council asks the Standing Commission on Ecumenical Relations to consider giving attention to the development of policy on diocesan and local ecumenism through study of the local church and its relationship with the Church universal, in cooperation with the Episcopal Diocesan Ecumenical officers who are at work on their program goals and objectives. |
