Resolved, That the Executive Council pledge its continued prayers for the Presiding Bishop as he continues to vision and lead the Church; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council pledge its continued prayers and support for Dr. Pamela P. Chinnis as she leads the House of Deputies with courage and conviction; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its gratitude to the Rt. Rev. Orris G. Walker and the Diocese of Long Island for their welcome and for the time spent with the diocese at the Cathedral and George Mercer School; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its gratitude to those who prepared and served the wonderful meal provided at the diocesan event on Wednesday, November 11, 1992; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council thank Mr. Ludwig, Director of Music and Master of the Choristers at the Cathedral of the Incarnation for the demonstration of the organ and delightful organ recital; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council offer its gratitude and good wishes to its Planning Consultant, Ms. Helen Spector, this being her final meeting; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its thanks to the Rt. Rev. Harold Hopkins for helping us to heal and grow and be reconciled; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its gratitude for the gift that is the ministry of Bishop Hopkins; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its gratitude to Planning and Development for their continued work and dedication; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council congratulate the Rev. Kris Lee and his staff in the Communication Unit, specifically Electronic Media as they rejoice in being awarded the Polly Bond Award at the 1992 Episcopal Communicators Conference; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council thank Mr. Alan Blanchard for his presentation for the Church Pension Fund and Affiliates; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its love and support for Ana Maria Soto as we learn of her acceptance of a proposal of marriage; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its sympathy and love to the Rev. Abigail Hamilton and her family on the death of her husband's mother; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its pleasure in receiving the news, during its regular meeting, of the decision to open the three-fold ordained ministry to women in the Church of England and commend the Archbishop of Canterbury for his sensitive pastoral leadership during the decision-making process; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council dispatch its prayers and congratulations to the Movement for the Ordination of Women for at last achieving its dream of an affirmative vote in the Church of England on the Ordination of Women to the priesthood; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its appreciation to Mrs. Joyce Phillips Austin and the Ven. Philip Allen for faithfully representing ECUSA as they participated in the New Zealand Partners-in-Mission Consultation; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council congratulate the Rev. Lloyd Stuart Casson on being awarded the Medal of Merit, by the University of Delaware, a distinguished award to persons who have made an important contribution to society; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council send its deepest congratulations to the Rev. Conrad Raiser as he begins his new ministry as Secretary General of the World Council of Churches; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express thanks for the important values and experience which he will bring to the WCC and pledge to him our cooperation and support; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council send their best wishes and appreciation for his many years of service to the Rev. Emilio Castro as he retires as Secretary General of the World Council of Churches, and express its appreciation for his many accomplishments on behalf of the Christian faith throughout the world; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council pledge its continued prayers for healing for the Rev. David Perry; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its affection and gratitude for the continued partnership with our Canadian brothers and sisters; for the presence of Suzanne Lawson and Diane Maybee; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its sincere appreciation, thanks and love to the Rt. Rev. Furman Stough as he retires as Vice President of this Church and express to him our gratitude on behalf of the members of this Church; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express its gratitude and sincere appreciation to the Church Center Staff for their hard work and their professional skills; for providing all necessary information for this council meeting in a timely fashion; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council express congratulations to President-elect Bill Clinton and Vice President-elect Al Gore on their election; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Council assure President George Bush of its continued prayers and support. |
