Resolved, That the Executive Council, meeting in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, November 2-6, 1998, express gratitude to Mayor Kirk Humphries for his greetings to us as we began our meeting; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council express its gratitude to Bishop Moody for our time here; the tour of the Murrah Building site and memorial fence; the tour of the diocesan buildings and the visits to the several parishes for dinner; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council thank the Dean of the Cathedral for the hospitality offered to the Council. We are particularly grateful for the opportunity to experience worship in the newly renovated sanctuary; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council express its thanks to the Diocese of Oklahoma for the generous loan of space for the Field Office, located here for many years; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council express appreciation to Bishop Smalley, President of Province VII, for his presence here; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council remember in prayer the Rt. Rev. John Maury Allin, 23rd Presiding Bishop, whose influence is still felt to this day; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council give assurance of prayer to the Rev. David Perry and the Rev. Winston Ching, whose mothers died this past year; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council congratulate Lucy Lacovara, who will be married later this month; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council express its thanks to the staff of the General Convention Office for their work during this meeting; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council express thanks and prayers for the appointment of the Rev. Carmen Guerrero as Jubilee Officer and thank her for her service on the Executive Council; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council thank the leadership of the four sites of our visits: Santa Maria Virgen, Church of the Redeemer, All Souls Parish, and the Casady School, for their work in demonstrating the various ministries in this diocese.

Whereas, Nan Marvel first served as Administrative Assistant in the Office of the Presiding Bishop beginning October 8, 1976; and on February 1, 1981 was appointed as Assistant for Administration for the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief; and

Whereas, Nan became Manager and Operations Officer of the Fund on January 1, 1989, and was appointed Director of the Grants Program of the Fund and Assistant for Administration for Mission Planning; and

Whereas, Nan was appointed Director of the Fund on January 1, 1995; further, during her tenure with the Presiding Bishop's Fund, Nan has represented the Episcopal Church in numerous ecumenical circles including:

Church World Service Committee
Church World Service Disaster Response Program Committee
Church World Service Material Resources Program Committee
Board of Interchurch Medical Assistance, Inc. and service as Vice President
Board and Executive Committee of COEL and Chair of Projects Committee
Board of Technoserve
Board of Cooperative Child Care Disaster Response
National Voluntary Agencies Active in Disaster Response
National Council of Churches/Church World Service Committee on Medical Response to The Coalition of Independent States; therefore be it

Resolved, That this Executive Council express its profound gratitude to this dedicated servant of the Church for her tireless dedication to those in great need in times of disaster; for her love of the Church she so ably served for so many years; and be it

Resolved, To paraphrase the words of the great hymn:

Come labor on, who dares stand idle, on the harvest plain, While all around us waves the golden grain. And to each servant does the Master say: Servant -- Well Done!
