Whereas, Our Partners in Mission Consultation is the Episcopal Church's response to an Anglican Consultative Council resolution and therefore operates within guidelines of procedure and world scope set out by the Anglican Consultative Council; and Whereas, Venture in Mission is this Church's initiative for which General Convention has set out a timetable for implementation which is independent of but roughly coincident with that of our Partners in Mission Consultation; and Whereas, It is clearly understood that the success of both our Partners in Mission and Venture in Mission will be heavily dependent upon involvement in the process by communicants in the pew and that the process itself is as much an objective as the priorities which may eventually emerge; now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the two programs be actively coordinated in both their planning and implementation on the national, regional and diocesan levels so that each serves the other, through visitations, data gathering, consultations and particularly the grass-roots communication of all of these things and that Executive Council staff therefore be so directed to implement this policy. |
