Canon Bonnie Anderson was elected Vice President of the House of Deputies in 2003, and became President of the House in 2006. She served until 2009, when she elected not to run for a third term. She was an eight-term Deputy during which time she chaired the Program, Budget and Finance Committee and was elected to the Executive Council. While a member of the House, Canon Anderson served as Canon to the Ordinary in the Diocese of Michigan, as well as President of the Standing Committee. She is a writer and preacher, and has focused much of her ministry on youth and caring for the environment and those affected by its degradation.
